Job program: Working for Victoria

The Working for Victoria program is an initiative that the Government of Victoria has promoted to help the community in the face of the crisis caused by the coronavirus. The overriding goal is to help people who need to find a job and support companies that require more workers.

To carry out this initiative, Working for Victoria has partnered with Sidekicker to support:

  • Job applicants to find work.
  • Job seekers so they can access online training.
  • Employers to find experienced and selected people ready to work.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, more job opportunities have arisen in sectors such as childcare, elderly care, machinery operation, food preparation, agriculture, food production, among others.

How to apply:

Sign up for Sidekicker: There you must tell them about your experience and the type of job you are looking for. You will then receive an activation email when your registration is processed.

Start your search: Login to Sidekicker to access job opportunities.

Do some training: You can access free online training, so you can update your skills. You may also be eligible for free TAFE courses.

Make the application:Apply to the jobs that suit you best.

Get a job: If your application is successful, you will be ready to start working.

What type of jobs are available?

You'll find a wide variety of openings available throughout the state. It is important to note that the majority of jobs are the answer to supporting areas that need more help during this pandemic.

Am I eligible?

•You are eligible to participate in the Working for Victoria Program if you are:

•Legally capable of working in Victoria.

•If you are unemployed or have recently experienced a significant reduction in your income.

What if you require training or accreditation? 

You will have assistance to help you complete the training or receive accreditation to get you started.
