Queensland International Student Assistance Package

The Queensland Government has tripled all of its efforts to help those who need it most, thereby increasing its statewide package of international student assistance to $15 million AUD.

Within this package, an additional $10 million AUD will be made available to support international students experiencing financial difficulties as a result of COVID-19.

El Gobierno de Queensland espera anunciar pronto cuando se hará la financiación disponible. Les recomendamos a todos los estudiantes estar atentos a las redes sociales de Study Queensland para mantenerse al día con los anuncios.

Meanwhile, international students needing immediate crisis support can contact the Queensland Student Hub network. In this network, students will be able to access services such as food stamp assistance, mental health support, crisis accommodation, and items that meet their basic needs. Students seeking these grants should make an appointment with a student support officer.

International students in private providers of education and training.

If you are an international student studying with a private Queensland-based education and training provider, you may be eligible for this financial support.

If you are assessed as eligible, you will receive a payment of $500AUD in your Australian bank account. Keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for you to receive this money.

The portal will be open very soon. It will remain open until all funds allocated from the International Student Assistance Package are exhausted. So it is important that you submit your application immediately if you need help.

Eligibility criteria:

You may be eligible if:

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You have an international student visa to study at a Queensland education and training provider.
